The News of the World and Satan

Oh dear!

Was that headline sensational?

No, then maybe I was 300 years too late...

... but if that kind of attitude is all in the past and from a bygone age of superstition and manipulation of the many by the few, then why is News of the World playing the Satan game today?

I don't mean demonising an 'overpaid, oversexed, not that nice' professional football player, which I guess in itself has something of the Spanish inquisition about it.

I do mean why they and the rest of their brethren press engage in destructive news foraging to find ways of exposing private instances of misdemeanour and raising the issue to the level of a national trial by opinion.

Do I care what John Terry has been up to? No, but...

Actually, yes I do, because it is such a farcical affair of no consequence, so what is the reason for it being the natio-anal headline? Aren't we being encouraged to believe in nothing and one the 1 second hail a group of highly paid individuals as national heroes, just so we can be told they are evildoers and hedonists the next? If it is low rent media fodder, why aren't the big natioanl dailies and news sources ridiculing the whole madness?

The BBC and ITV, and all media outlets have played their part in this... Please if you read this comment on what national news media has graced themselves by leaving this alone.

Remember Why MPs are Wankers?

Well, now that is all done, lets consider just whether the draughty building was a metaphor for the general financial management of Westminster Affairs, MPs' expenses, and the vulnerability of public money to political use. I have nmothing more to say on that, as it all spoke for itself.

These people ended abusing a system without even realising they were doing it - that's how far the nations policy barons are without guide or proper rule.

How naive I was to rib Red Ken for having a claret red nose for a bit of comic relief!!!

What is going on with the Mother of All Parliaments? Why is it acting like the Bawdy House of All Whores?

New Labour look to me like the Vanguard of the Oldest Profession? what about the Tories? We always knew the Tories were good for a fast buck, a sex scandal, and some good old fashioned elitism. Back to the good old days of merchant classes controlling royals. After all, didn't the first chavs arrive in 1066?

When was the last time there was real, radical reform? Seems to me like we are in real need of it now.

BBC - Not For Me

I tire of the BBC's obsession with British Politicians and their post political correctness faux paternalism.

I tire of it more than I tire of the politics.

I tire of the ever more showbiz charity appeals smattered with mock sincerity exploiting real concern.

I tire of the self promotion.

I tire of the conceit.

I tire of the fact that every spare hertz on the Frequency Modulation is colonised by their national and local trumpets.

I tire of the lack of public freedom of the airwaves.

I tire of the lack of balance and the excess of focus on what I can only call a propaganda drive.

I tire of the fact that there is no real alternative that is not mediocrity personified.

The real suffering and dying of the world have no true voice through them.

The real victims of AIDS, civil war, genocide, murder, state terror, tyranny, religious persecution, bigotry are not championed with true honour or vindication by them at all.
They are not objective.
They are not critical.
They do not question the status quo in any way at all.
They are not a force for change or progress.
The time for their middle class Oxbridge educated innovation came and went, but now they have no credibility as a whole.
Just as the English are unpopular all over the world, in an international context the BBC is seen as the voice that complements that unpopularity. They do us the British no good at home, and they prepare our unpopularity ahead of us overseas.

What a shame. There is so much that is good in this British Isles. And it would be lost to the world and to ourselves.

The Government aren't Really going to not Spy on the Roads, are they?

But do not be lulled into a false sense of privacy. What I really dislike about the current government, is its determination to do everything it wants while making us believe it is doing the opposite. For every move they make these days, look for the technology companies looking to make big profits from the tax payer and deliver another layer of invasiness and control on our public lives. WE MUST NOT SLEEP WALK ANY MORE INTO A REMOTE CONTROLLED SOCIETY.
